An artist friend of mine works alot with neon. Sometimes she makes different parts of it turn on and off with little mechanical switches activated by cams driven by timing motors. I've gotten her interested in using a computer to do somewhat the same thing. My question is: what is the cheapest system around that she could buy (off the shelf) that has some sort of parallel I/O port that can drive triacs or relays? I imagine that there are all sorts of one board systems designed for process control. It would also be nice if she could have some inputs, e.g., set it up so that things turn on and off from sound or light inputs, etc. Wm Leler - UNC Chapel Hill
