I'm looking for pointers to workstations that could be used by a graphics artist for designing letterheads, logos, trademarks, etc. Apparently clients don't have enough vision to look at rough sketches and see the final product. One approach would be to generate a color picture on a monitor, take a picture (probably slides), and then display the idea(s) for the clients in full color. Probably what is needed here is a 1024 x 1024 color graphics board(s) and a monitor that can display the needed resolution. There is a need to display many colors, at least 64 and preferably 256. The high resolution is needed because of the need to display multiple fonts and sizes of characters. I assume that a bit-map will be needed to provide the flexibility of placing arbitrary characters in arbitrary positions on the page. Graphic design software and support for many fonts is a plus but not strictly necessary. I realize this package won't be cheap but I'm wondering if it can be done for $10K-15K. Any pointers or suggestions would be appreciated (particularly solutions under $10K). Bill Lee ...!ucbvax!nbires!ut-ngp!lee ...!decvax!eagle!ut-ngp!lee
