Hi, First of all, thanks to all of you who responded to my request for information regarding graphics on UN*X.I learned of some efforts I wasn't previously aware of. Second,I was planning to mail out my version of vplot to all who requested it individually, but as the number of requests has reached 50, I decided that net.sources was the only appropriate way to distribute.I mailed some of the early respondents a prerelease;those of you who got it should replace what you got with the version I am now placing on net.sources as there have been some small modifications. The file I am placing on net.sources is in ar format and I presume that everybody can read it. If anybody doesn't get net.sources and still wants a copy, let me know and I'll mail you separately. You are free to make whatever use you see fit of this program. You may redistribute it to any and all takers;all I ask is that you let me know where you send it.The reason is that I would like to see how widespread interest is in graphics out there and this provides a convenient way.Of course, you get what you pay for so I assume no responsibility for what the program does. I remain interested in any and all things related to graphics under UN*X and should you come across any pointers to interesting stuff in that area,a note would be most appreciated. Also,if you discover errors in my program, please let me know about them and I'll do my best to correct them. One thing that I do not do is allow different linestyles. They are not that easy to produce on the versatec and making them come out right is too costly. The version of vplot you are getting is complete in all other aspects though and conforms to plot(5).It is written for fan-fold paper, but could easily be modified for roll-paper.Also,you should be able to modify it to use any other bit-mapped device you may have;changing putpicture.c should be enough. Lastly,I'd like to know some more about what kind of graphics are perceived as "needed";i.e.,would you have any use fro a 3-D graphics program?I'm working on one for my own enjoyment, but I'd like suggestions. Are you satisfied with CORE?So if you have an idle moment,I'd appreciate suggestions as to how to do things. Have Fun, Torben N.Nielsen {ucbvax utah-cs kpno}!arizona!torben torben.arizona@RAND-RELAY
