I have an application where I would like to display a 64 x 128 grid of different colored filled rectangles. The rectangles should "effectively" fill the screen, so that for a 672 x 480 display, the rectangles would be 6 x 3 pixels. The main requirement is that these 8196 rectangles be put up in 2 seconds, and repeatable at 4 second intervals. The system will be driven by a dedicated micro using a parallel interface. More than 8 colors per pixel is highly desirable. A large color palette and color lookup table would be nice. Who makes systems that can do this? What are their costs?
