We have a Houston Instruments digitizer running into a Tektronix 4051 that is used for digitizing circuit drawings. The output of the 4051 currently goes into a CP/M system which translates it into the Gerber format for use with a photoplotter and drilling machine. We also have a VAX/VMS system. What we would like to do is bypass the 4051 and CP/M system by running the digitizer straight into the VAX plus do the translation of the digitized data to the Gerber format on the VAX. Does anyone out there have/know of software that will do either the digitizing or translation (or both, preferably), or can be hacked fairly easily to do it (the alternative is going to be to write the software myself)?
