To all UNIX users of Evans & Sutherland PS300 systems: We here at UNC are very much interested in getting a UNIX version of the new Graphics Support Routines running (at least a subset). We have an application for which we would like to have a few of the PS300 converted to binary on the host (a VAX) by C-functions. Is anyone out there working on writing or converting the GSRs, thinking about it, or wishing someone else would? We would like to know about it before we invest a lot of time duplicating work already being done. Maybe we can cooperate and spread the work around. If you are thinking about a parallel interface, you will want to think about this. We will be glad to share any information we get from the net with those who reply. We are currently using Second Distribution of the UNIX Software from UCSF (with a few local changes) for communicating with the PS300.
