I have a driver for the Ikonas 3000 that runs under 4.2BSD. It is basically the Adage-supplied one (which is really Ron Gordon's driver) rewritten to run under 4.2 and provide the same interface. It also has a few improvements. Ron also has a copy of it. Since it's really his driver, I'd prefer that people request it from him first, unless you already are running his driver and just want the changed version for 4.2. Ron's address is allegra!rdg. Warning: even when you get the new driver, you can't run the Ikonas acceptance tests. The diagnostics use octal format all over the place, and the 4.2BSD F77 library doesn't support octal anymore. Has anyone gotten around this? Dave Martindale

I got around the problem of Ikonas diagnostics using octal I/O by (*blech*) putting octal I/O back into the F77 runtime library. This was under 4.1C. I don't know if the F77 runtime changed in going from 4.1C to 4.2. The Ikonas acceptance test is very pretty, but it's not clear that it was worth it... rick floyd uucp: (seismo | allegra)!rochester!rick arpa: rick@rochester
