I said something to the effect that ``We have a demo color Masscomp here, and it has real fast graphics, but no working graphics library''. (I don't recall my exact words.) To explain a little better: 1) We have a demo unit sitting in the machine room. 2) It runs. All the pre-compiled things on it seem to work. 3) After (at least) three ``system updates,'' we still can't compile anything using the graphics library. (I haven't tried myself, but the guy who's using it knows what he's doing.) 4) In case you're curious, it runs System-III-with-Berkeley-job-control (and csh of course). The graphics library manuals seem to be written for people using FORTRAN. In short, it looks like it would be real nice for graphics work, except for the missing/broken (I don't know which) graphics library. If anyone out there has a Masscomp with a working graphics library, speak up! -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci (301) 454-7690 UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris@maryland
