Greetings! I am looking to control a Super 8mm movie camera by connecting it to either a Centronics parallel port or (less desirably) an RS-232 port. The intent is to be able to photograph graphic images automagically w/out having to hang around while they are being computed. Surely this is a solved problem - could anyone share a solution with me? My camera simply needs a closed switch contact so it sounds to me like I want to drive a small relay - I'm just not sure how to do that. Thanks in advance... -- Cheers... One of the neatest ideas I have seen to control a camera used a terminal's internal "bell". You can either acoustically couple to the bell (using a sound activated switch) or you can build a little circuit which detects when the bell is being stimulated. The latter is probably a better idea if someone has to work while you are taking pictures. The result? For a couple hours of work you can drive your camera! You might even be able to find an accessory for your camera which is acoustically triggered. Kevin -- Kevin Szabo watmath!wateng!ksbszabo (Elec Eng, U of Waterloo)
