Professor Shijie Cai of Nanjing University in China was formerly a visiting scholar here at UCLA. While he was here he became interested in graphics, especially what was possible on smaller computers that Chinese universities might have. Upon his return to China he was told that only Bejing (Peking) and Shanghai were wealthy enough to afford subscriptions to the graphics journals. I would like to get him a subscription to IEEE Computer Graphics and ACM SIGGRAPH, at least for a year. If any of you know how to get a free or reduced rate subscription, please let me know. In addition, I would like to help him build a library of older journals. Many folks collect old journals only to throw them out after a couple of years. If any of you out there can help in this endeavor let me know. It would be appreciated if you could send them directly to him (or to me). Shijie is a very nice person and a scholar and would make every effort to circulate your contribution. If there is a good response maybe it would be wise to send me a list of those publications you have donated so that we can avoid massive redundancy. Professor Shijie Cai Duane R.
