[net.graphics] Summary of replies for cheap image processing

[]

Several people asked for summaries to my queries on cheap image
processing.

1) There are none.

2) Several people, including our site have some slow 68K or 32K based
systems with frame buffers and homebrew software, but this is only in the $50K
range. We are seeking $20K, if they are single user.

3) Multiuser image processing. Crays [or Cybers] seem to be the most cost
effective large scale image processors (satellite images). AP-120/164, CPSI,
etc. are okay for smaller applications like realtime or medical.

I will keep those posted who inquired as to any new Si Valley developments
even though I am not doing image processing myself any more.
