I am looking for a color graphics software package that runs on the IBM PC/AT with the following attributes: 1. It has an interactive editor that allows random symbols to be created and stored in a symbol library. Symbols can be recalled from the library and placed randomly on the screen. These symbols could be scaled and have their colors changed on the screen. Text and graphics could be combined. 2. It would have a symbol library with basic shapes such as circles, rectangles, bar charts, etc. 3. It would have an "operator" mode that would be used after the display were completed. The operator would be able to pan and zoom, select alternate displays, preferably in a windowed environment such as Top View, modify data fields, etc. The operator would be allowed to alter only selected fields on the display. 4. It would allow selected symbols on the display, such as a bar chart, to be associated with data that could be altered in real time from a background i/o process. This feature could be likened to slow animation. 5. It would be nice if the software used the GSS VDI/GKS graphics standards or something similar. If you know of a commercial software package that meets most or all of these requirements I would sure like to hear from you.
