[net.graphics] Gabor Herman voxal 3D reconstruction algorithm

jmm@ski.UUCP (Joel M. Miller) (04/26/85)

It is rumored that a thing by this name is useful for
reconstructing 3D objects from 2D slices, and that it
is running somewhere under Unix: any more info?

Gabor Herman has been working on the 3D reconstruction algorithm
for some time now. He is at the University of Pensylvania.
I don't know if he has a UNIX implementation or address. However,
if he does I would like to here about it. He works closely
with Dr. Oleh Tretiak at Drexel University; also in Philadelphia.
I saw the 3D reconstructions from slices and it was very impressive.
If you continue to have trouble getting in touch, I suggest you
ask information in Philadelphia. Give them my regards.

PS: We are having trouble here with return mail; perhaps
something should be done at your (ski.uucp) end.
