[net.graphics] references wanted on rank filters

I would like to get some references on rank filters (e.g., the median filter)
or more generally filters based on the order statistics, their mathematical
meaning and their use in image processing.

I already have Tukey's ``exploratoratory data analysis'', several papers of
Gallagher & al. in IEEE/ASSP (but for 1D signals only), and a few other ones
by various authors.

Can someone help me and give me some other references?
