[net.graphics] CORE and PHIGS?

gb@vax135.UUCP (Gary Bishop) (07/10/85)

Are there any implementations of the CORE standard for VAXen and 4.2BSD
that are public domain or available for $$? If so, where; if not, why?

Also, where can I read about PHIGS (Programmers Hierarchical Interface to Graphics)?

Thanks.

You can get the ANSI working documents from:

	Secretariat/CBEMA
	311 First St.
	NW.
	Suite 500
	Washington, DC 20001

You might be interested in these:

	CGI Working Document $35
GKS Language Bindings Working Document	$20

Be prepared to wait, I ordered in March and received the first 3 a few days
ago and have yet to get the bindings document.

Precision Visuals Incorporated, Boulder Colorodo, and Megatek
both sell core based graphics packages. I believe both are available
for un*x, though I am not sure which versions.

Megatek's product is Template. Their world headquarters can be
reached at (619)455-5590.

Precision Visuals' product is DI-3000. Their number is
(303)530-9000.
