I have heard a lot about video-disks and their large storage capabilities
which would be a boon to storing large images. However, I am not very
conversant with the advantages and disadvantages.
If they are so great in storing data, then how come we still use tapes ?
What are the advantages of VD when compared to tapes.
In maintaining a lerge data-base of images would video disks be a better
choice than tapes ? Do they give faster access ?
I would like opinions from people who have worked with VD or those who
are well conversant with the technology ....
