Germany Keywords: <A byte a day keeps bugs away > Hello Net, money-spending time again. We are looking for slave screens/video projectors for graphics terminals. Basically we would like something which plugs into the video output of a DEC VT[1,2]XX (reg.TM) and which will present a big picture. There are two ways. Either have a real slave screen or have a sort of projector for TV signals onto a screen. This all should tell the casual onlooker that I have already looked into this matter. Our problem is really our diverse hardware: we have a Symbolics Lisp Machine, plenty of DEC and DEC compatible terminals and two Perqs (by ICL or Perq Systems Corp. depending on which side of the Atlantic you are on). At IJCAI my boss actually saw slave screens for Symbolics' but did not have time to take down the manufacturers name. Now the real questions: 1- Who makes a system like we need ? We would also like to have screen to do 'normal' TV video. Colour is not essential (we don't do any colour graphics. We need big screens so that lots of people can stang around and gawk. 2- There is a company allegedly called Electrophone who seem to make a slave screen for the MAC. Does anyone know anything about this or have an address ? Do they make any other products like that ? Thanks for your help. Any replies I will summarise because I reckon there may be several people out there who are interested. Incidentally: I did post a summary re. window managers but I never saw it on the net so if you have not seen it in net.followup then please mail me and I will repost. 4 Gigabuckets of Thanks -- Love, Sebastian (Snoopy) "You haven't done it, till you've done it with pointers" \!mcvax\!unido\!ecrcvax\!snoopy /* N.B. valid csh address */
