Please! UNDERSTAND! Watch my lips! A new newsgroup is only justified when a popular discussion overloads an existing newsgroup, and promises to continue for some time. So, as things stand, there is NO NEED to create a newsgroup for image processing, since there is no current discussion of it happening at all anywhere. What little traffic in image processing there was a while back fit rather nicely into net.graphics, which is a logically-related place for it to be.
