I've posted to net.sources an Apollo program for viewing the output of the Mandlebrot set generater Bennett Todd posted a couple weeks ago. On a color node (DN560/660) with an 8 bit display the pictures look as good as the Sci-Am illustrations (particularly if h/vpix is around 1K). You can also get interesting results even on bitmapped displays. The program has one additional feature: you can use the mouse to find the coordinates and "scale" of new areas for exploration.
