A friend of mine has an HP7221A 4-pen graphics plotter. He is interested in using it with his IBM PC for Lotus 1-2-3 plots. Has anyone got any ideas as to whether a driver is available? Would be intersted to know if there is a PostScript to HP7221A bridge. (I have been informed that HP7221A actually talks HPGL.) Thank you very much. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Yih Lerh Huang, grouptheory systems incorporated (613) 594 0227 uucp: {pesnta, lsuc, prcrs}!nrcaer!grpthry!ylh {allegra,decvax,duke,floyd,ihnp4,linus}!utzoo!dciem!nrcaer!grpthry!ylh

re: "(I have been informed that HP7221A actually talks HPGL.)" The 7221A/B/C/S/T talk a unique escape-sequence language called "compact binary", designed for efficient data transfer on slow async lines. For the 7221C/T version (the "S" and "T" had roll-feed), there was (and may still be) a kit to convert it to HP-GL. Basically the kit converts the 7221 to a 7220 [HP-GL]. I don't know if the kit would work in a 7221B/S. I doubt if it would work in a 7221A.
