[net.graphics] IBM-ega

I would also like any information available on the EGA for the IBM PC. In
particular, I would like to program the EGA directly (bypassing the BIOS).
The only information that I have seen that is at all useful is an article
that occurred in the April 1985 issue of the IBM PC Tech Journal.

The PC Tech Journal article mentioned in a previous article is one
good source of information on the EGA. Initially, the only other
decent info I could find was the November 1984 "IBM Personal Computer
Seminar Proceedings". Information about this publication
(used to be || is) available from:

IBM Corp.
Editor, IBM Presonal Computer Seminar Proceedings
4629
Post Office Box 1328
Boca Raton, FL 33432

A more current and $$ source of data is the "IBM Options and Adapters
Technical Ref.". These manuals are getting HUGE (three stuffed IBM
binders) and come with a years update service. The EGA section is 164
pages long and includes the on board BIOS listing. Your local sales rep
usually has copies and can "loan" them out in exceptional cases.
