[net.music] TOP 15 SINGERS/GROUPS FROM 70s/80s

vacca@burdvax.UUCP (03/22/85)

These are my suggestions for the top 15 singers/groups of the past two
decades:

        1. Poco
        2. Julio Iglesias
        3. Red Bone (NOT Leon - remember "Come and gechore love"?))
        4. Fat Boys
        5. Chaka Khan's personal RAPper
        6. David Cassidy
        7. Alice (from the now-defunct show by the same name)
        8. Argent ("Hold your head up")
        9. Kurtus Blow (another truly-AMAZING RAPper)
       10. England Dan
       11. John Ford Coley
       12. REO Speedwagon
       13. Dan Ackroyd (in the MTV video, "We are the World")
       14. David Soul
       15. Bob Hope (his rendition of "Thanks for the Memories" is truly
           inspiring)

Anyone have additions to this list?

How about some subtractions? Perhaps I'm being a little cruel but
I find myself unable to agree with anything on this list except maybe
Poco. However, I realize that everyone is entitled to their opinion so
I'll provide mine to be the the subject of your comments, criticisms,
flames, etc.
I think that a few particularly memorable groups of the past two
decades were (in no special order):

      Jethro Tull
      Pink Floyd
      Deep Purple
      America
      The Police
      Credence Clearwater Revival
      Three Dog Night
      Blue Oyster Cult
      Alan Parsons Project
      Styx
      Paul McCartney & Wings
      Eric Clapton
      Queen
      The Rolling Stones
      The Moody Blues

And what is good, Phaedrus;
And what is not good?
Need we ask anyone to tell us these things?
