I am currently working on a Senior Project at UNCC that invlolves image processing/enhancement. I, along with two other CSC majors, have been developing a n package of routines that we have collectivelty called SIPS (Senior Image Processing System). For the past two semesters we have been staring at a huge collection of 3 images, all of which are x-rays. I would like to know if anyone out there has access to any images that are in a 512x512 b/w format, using 256 gray levels, that are *NOT* x-rays but preferably inanimate objects. We would love to have some astronomicallly related pics that we could experiment with. Our package can do many of the same things that the guys at JPL are doing with their shot of Uranus. We can do histogram stretching/manipulation techniques, edge enhancements, contouring, etc. We are running on a DEC VAX 750/780 format, jusing a Ramtek 9400 graphics monitor. If anyone can help, or would just like to chat on this subject, pleaseeget in touch with me or one of my cohorts on this same system: unccvax!jeh (Jeffrey Holman) unccvax!rhbryant (Ruth Bryant) Thanx!!
