[***** For the line-eater *****] We have recently obtained a copy of AutoCAD for the Sun 2/120. The software was provided free, on the condition that we write a report on it. Un- fortunately, AutoCAD for the Sun-2 requires a Sky board. Sky Computer reports that the cheapest (16K) board costs over $9000 with an educational discount. There is no way we can afford anywhere near that amount. I'd really like to be able to let our students use this software, and so I'm asking for help. I can think of two possible ways out: (1) Is there anyone out there who has a used Sky board that they would be willing to sell cheap or donate to St. Joseph's University? (2) AutoCAD tests for the Sky board, and will not run without it. I wonder if it would be possible to modify the software so it will not make this test. Obviously, the program would run slower without the FPA, but I guess we could tolerate this. AutoCAD customer support says this can't be done, but the person I spoke to didn't sound like she really knew what she was talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone can offer help or ideas, please reply by e-mail or otherwise. Thank you. Peter Ash Dept. of Math/CSC St. Joseph's University Philadelphia, PA 19131 (215) 879-7536
