This is just a short follow up to my earlier request for info. A number of people have responded already (thank you all). One name that has come up a number of times is Digital Productions. They, along with Abel Image Research, have just been bought out by Omnibus Inc. (a canadian firm, I believe). The resulting company, Omnibus and Abel Simulations, I've already sent a copy of my resume. (Beats me why they didn't keep the Digital Productions in their name, out of the three of them thats the one that I know best.) There was a rumor floating around Siggraph '86 that Gary Demos (and maybe John Whitney Jr. as well) had left and were planning on starting a new comapny. Omnibus sort of confirmed this (they didn't deny that he had left) but weren't willing to tell me how to contact a possible competitor. If anybody out there in netland has any idea of how these men might be reached, I am VERY interested in applying to them. Thanx for all the help so far, and keep those cards and letters coming! References: You can keep up with Demos and Whitney Jr.'s new venture and Omnibus by reading the legal section in your newspaper. According to an article in the Globe and Mail a few weeks ago, the two are sueing and counter- suing each other. The best preparation for computer animation seems to be a law degree.
