Well, I'm finally getting around to doing what I promised so long ago: the first (of many) scripts has been posted to net.sources. The mods (once you've collected them all) provide: o Subprocess control within Emacs. ESC-^Z is bound (by newproc.ml) to a function which suspends your current job. There are hordes of new functions for this. o Support for 4.1 MPX files, and 4.1[ac] network/PTYs. o Support for external processes writing to Emacs, instead of directly to your terminal. o Echo keystrokes and echo argument: you can get Emacs to display key sequences and/or prefix arguments on the minibuf line, either immediately or after some number of seconds. o Support for the new directory format in 4.1c. o Filename completion. Also supports the new 4.1c format. I can't think of anything else, right now. Oh well, have fun; it's time for me to get some lunch (if McDonalds isn't serving breakfast...). -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris.umcp-cs@UDel-Relay
