#N:smu:12400004:000:375 smu!pedz Jun 28 18:11:00 1984 I would like to change emacs so that when I edit a file which I do not have write access to, it warns me ahead of time. Also, when I am in super-user mode, it never tells me that the file was read access. Has anyone made these changes, if so I would appreciate receiving the mods. If I learn anything useful along the way, I will post it to the net when I get done. Perry

If you have UniPress Emacs source, it's easy enough to turn on
bf_mode.md_ReadOnly if the file being visited is not writable.
