[net.emacs] JOVE-- who owns it?

The 2.9bsd tape I got has JOVE on it.  Is it public or does
UCB own it (or someone else)?  It might be nice to port to
VMS.

Jon Payne no longer has a net address that I know of.  He's gone
off to college at U. of Rochester.  His address used to be

	jpayne@bbn-vax

but I have no idea if they're saving/forwarding mail for him.

Jove was distributed to anybody who asked on Usenet.  It was done by
Jonathan Payne at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.  Since it was
given away and no copyrights appear in it, it is public domain by
default.  The author's address, if you really want to check, is:
