We received our tape of GNU emacs today. We are making it available to whomever wishes to call up and get it via uucp, as per Chuck Wegrzyn's request. The file is in compressed tar format, but it is still 1.22Mbytes long, so be prepared to be occupied on the phone for a couple of hours. The file is compressed using the Lempel-Ziv compression program referenced by Chuck in previous postings. If you don't have this program, you can get it as well. You can uucp the following files: ~/gnumacs.tar.Z ~/compress/README ~/compress/compress.c ~/compress/compress.l Connection information: Here is a sample L.sys line which should be able to get into osu-eddie to get GNU emacs: osu-eddie <time> ACU 1200 1-614-422-7709 in: gnumacs word: gnumacs This uucp login will restrict calling between 6pm and 6am; we only have one dialin modem, and it tends to be awfully busy during normal working hours, so we're limiting this to allow other work to go on as usual. Of course, it'll also keep your phone bill lower. We request that other sites having a more typical uucp login for us please avoid copying gnumacs during the work day. If you have any problems, give us a call. (I'd like to express much appreciation to Chuck Wegrzyn for all the help he's provided in getting gnumacs to me. Thanx, Chuck!) -- Karl Kleinpaste @ Ohio State University 614/422-0915 osu-eddie!karl
