[net.emacs] GNU Emacs on System V

Some questions about GNU Emacs:

  * I've been told that it's tailored for 4.2BSD.  Is this true?
  * Has anyone ported it to a System V based product?
  * If so, was it hard?  Is it available?  Any hints?
  * Will other GNU software have this same orientation?

Please respond by mail, if there's enough interest I'll post a
summary.  If this has already been hashed out before, would someone
please send me the summary of the earlier discussion?
