I have to say that I find offensive the implication that all companies that market software are "slimy" (used in reference to Unipress, which I've always found to be an upright, professional company). Why is it that people are considered "greedheads" because they try to make a living off something they are good at, and which they enjoy doing (and which most of their customers find extremely useful; what was I to do while waiting for the first release of GNUMACS, throw away the Unipress version and use vi ?!)? I personally like to work on software tools because 1) I find it fun, 2) I think that my efforts might in some small way make the world a better place, 3) my company gives me money for doing it, so I don't have to worry about how to feed myself and pay the rent, and 4) it's relatively benign (I could be working on devices for killing people). So have a little respect, please. Gray Abbott Creare Inc. Hanover, NH {...dartvax!creare!gda}
