If you enter c-mode in emacs, the editor will give "()" if you type in a "(". Has anybody noticed that, if you change you mind after typing in "(", you delete the "(", the matching ")" emacs gave you was not deleted. Does anybody happen to know whether emacs's c-mode was designed this way or this is one of the "options" one can choose. Does anybody know how to eliminate the irregularity -- it would be nice that the c-mode is in some way symmetrical.

On a related topic to this -- Has anyone written a c-mode for GNU emacs that works right? i.e. Does K&R indentation. The one that is supplied with GNUmacs does terrible things to your code and there is no way (that I know of) to stop it. Also, in the documentation that it came with, a manual is mentioned. Does anyone know where I can get such a manual? Does it exist? (P.S. Please mail replies unless you think everyone will be interested...) Thank You All,
