[net.emacs] TVI 921

erez@uwvax.UUCP (Erez Levav) (10/07/85)

We have lots of TVI921's but not even one good
termcap entry for it. Most of the problems are
with GNU emacs (16.60). The screen update is a
real mess. Also the inverse/reverse video -
the TVI reverse the attribute of the region, so
the result depends on the previous attribute...
We tried to adopt the TVI950 entry, but there are
some things that we can't 'translate' (sg#??).
Any properly working suggestions will be welcome.

<yum!>

I have an entry for the tvi921 that works for all our programs
here -- except for GNU emacs. I suspect that GNU emacs should
(maybe) be checking the "xs" (standout not erased by overwriting)
flag (I know it isn't), but I'm not sure yet.

But all is not lost. If you make sure the 921 is in "embedded
attribute" mode, you can use a tvi925 entry (this works fine
with GNU emacs).

BTW, I have a complete (as I can make it) set of Televideo
termcaps (except for 970's, but those can emulate DEC's),
and will post them to net.sources when I've got this GNU emacs
problem worked out.
