[net.emacs] GNU emacs w/ vt101: help!

mark@hyper.UUCP (Mark Mendel) (10/28/85)

Does anybody have a termcap that works with a vt100 (or vt101) at 19.2 Kbaud
such that xon/xoff on the vt100 can be disabled without loosing characters?

I've tried everything to get vt100's to work. We have an odd set-up:

				(19.2 Kbaud)
				----> System A - port 1
        VT100 <----->-hyperbus -|
		     |  	----> System A - port 2
        WY75  <----->-  	|
		     |         ...
		    ...

System A see's all of its ports as operating at 19.2 Kbaud. The hyperbus
can supply the vt100 with any baud rate. Now, the WY75 runs at 19.2 just
fine.

The vt100, however, can't keep up. If I disable it's xon/xoff, it looses
characters. If I slow it down, the hyperbus will eventual fill its buffer
and throw away characters.

I guess that what I need is to pad the termcap, but this didn't seem to work.
Characters still were lost.
