The MicroEmacs editor in net.sources (posted for Amiga) is public domain, and exceedingly portable. Perhaps someone could compile that for Macintosh for you. All that should be needed are suitable routines for reading control characters from the keyboard and positioning the cursor; nothing terribly complex. Note that taching it to do windows Mac style, and use the mouse, and suchlike, would involve much more effort. But if all you want is a simple Emacs, that might be worth considering. I am in fact using it to compose this (on a VAX). It works. -Bennett -- Bennett Todd -- Duke Computation Center, Durham, NC 27706-7756; (919) 684-3695 UUCP: ...{decvax,seismo,philabs,ihnp4,akgua}!mcnc!ecsvax!duccpc!bet
