[net.emacs] Time/load problem in Gosmacs

Gallaher@BLUE.RUTGERS.EDU (Mike Gallaher) (03/17/86)

<the "time" package never gets past displaying "time and load",
and shells in shell windows have ^M displayed>

I wasn't able to get the "time and load" problem to happen under
Unipress 2.10 (in the final throes of being released now) on a Sun
or a Pyramid, but I didn't have a vax I could crash to test it on.
(The pyramid was cooperative to crash twice on its own.) This may
sound silly, but did you check the protections of the ptys?

We found that the ^M-in-shell-windows problem went away after we made
sure that the line discipline was set properly before starting the shell.
