[net.emacs] Meaning of ^A, ^E, ^V and ^Z

nz@wucs.UUCP (04/24/86)

The way I originally heard it from DEC-20 hacks was:

^A	far left on keyboard, just as beginning of line is at
the far left end of the keyboard (again, ^B taken)

	^E	end of line

^V	looks like a down arrow

^Z	ctrl-Z was originally the C-M- prefix, and I have
made it be so for my environment. ^Z was chosen
because it is near where the META key is on keyboards
		with META keys.
