CCA (Computer Corporation of America) Emacs comes with an EDT emulation package. The documentation lists several fundamental differences between EDT and Emacs which show through the emulation; I don't know if these are major problems or not because I've never used EDT. CCA Emacs is very much not PD, though it's not very expensive (I think an educational site can get Vax source for about $450). I have no association with CCA other than being a satisfied customer. -- Roy Smith, {allegra, philabs}!phri!roy System Administrator, Public Health Research Institute 455 First Avenue, New York, NY 10016

Please keep in mind that some learning new editors is not everybody's favorite sport. I know a few secretaries at my alma mater who are now learning Emacs as their 6th editor in two years. I even know graduate students who actually prefer doing useful work instead of learning the newfangled features of a system. Sometimes, I almost wish I was one of them. On a less flamable topic, has any body gone to the pain files for JOVE and Gosling Emacs that s so that they look like Gnuemacs? -- Jean-Francois Lamy Department of Computer Science CSNet: lamy@toronto University of Toronto EAN: lamy@ai.toronto.cdn Toronto, Ontario UUCP:{ihnp4,decvax,decwrl,uw-beaver}!utcsri!lamy M5S 1A4 ARPA: lamy%toronto@csnet-relay
