[net.emacs] UniPress gives good Emacs

rs@mirror.UUCP (08/22/86)

Just a quick plug...

The new "2.10" release of UniPress emacs is great! Nice pop-up
windows, extensive documentation, and real good performance. I don't
want to turn this into an "my emacs has more features" war. However,
sometimes people want to or have to buy a product that has a solid
support group behind it. UniPress definitely has that -- Mike
Gallagher is a real wizard at that code.

The stuff is real portable, clean, and nice to work with to write your
own extensions, too. Judging from the BOF's at recent Usenix meetings,
they'll be taking their emacs in interesting directions. It's this
last item that prompted this puff piece: it would be a real loss if
Unipress dropped out of the emacs game, now that everyone's busy
loading GNU off their 4.3 tapes.

Disclaimer: We have close ties to Unipress, as a long-time satisfied
customer.
