[net.emacs] MicroEMACS 3.7/XENIX Problems

brecht@sask.UUCP (Tim Brecht) (09/03/86)

I am having trouble getting MicroEMACS 3.7 to work on a PC/AT running
the first release of XENIX. Two things may be the source of trouble:
(1) XENIX is not listed as one of the operating systems in the estruct.h
file; I'm using the V7 definition for now; and (2) I am trying to use
the large program model in the C compiler, so that I can have a decent
amount of buffer space. However, when I run MicroEMACS, it seems to have
trouble allocating memory. (When I invoked "help", it was able to take
in less than half a screenful of text and then gave an "unable to allocate
48 bytes" message.)

Can someone out there reveal the secrets to successfully compiling
it under XENIX? Thanks in advance.
