Keywords: Thanks to all of you who helped me with my last GNU Emacs problem involving the modeline. In case anyone was wondering, the loadst program was not on my searchpath and could not be found by Emacs. I now have another problem with GNU Emacs. I am now using a VT-100 terminal at 1200 baud to run Emacs. When I move off the botttom the screen using C-N, instead of scrolling up half the text and repainting the lower portion of the display, Emacs redraws the entire display instead. The same thing happens with C-V, C-P, and any other command which should scroll the screen instead of redrawing everything. Additionally, when I insert a line Emacs redraws everything in the window below the line I am inserting when it could just as easily tell the VT100 to insert a line and let the terminal worry about it. At 1200 baud, all of this is very annoying. Using Gosling Emacs, C-N and C-P scroll the text perfectly and redraw only half the screen. Vi also seems to know how to scroll the screen as well. I am using the same termcap for all three programs. What is the problem with GNU Emacs? Please send your replies by E-mail. I will post a summary to the net.
