[net.emacs] Where can I get a version of EMACS for...

larry@JPL-VLSI.ARPA (10/03/86)

I haven't seen anyone post such a notice, so I'm re-sending Dan Lawrence's
message from a couple of weeks back. For those not familiar with it,
MicroEMACS is a small, fast version of EMACS originally written by David
Conroy and much enhanced by Dan and several others. It runs on MS-DOS
PC's, VAXen under VMS, and a variety of Unix boxes. It is public domain
and has #includes so that it can be compiled with several PC C compilers.
Anyone here at JPL can get a copy from me by sending me a floppy, but you
should understand that Dan will always have the most recent version.

This note is to announce the availibility of MicroEMACS 3.7i.
This version has a lot of the enhancments that have appeared on the net
since the 3.7 release, along with a few new features, like file
encryption and an apropos command (all optionally compilable of course).

What is in this release:

Three MSDOS archive files, EMACSDOC.ARC with the documentation
and various macro files, EMACSEXE.ARC with some selected MSDOS
executables, EMACSSRC.ARC with the complete sources.

Where to get these:

Not wanting to clutter the net with this minor release, there
are two ways to get this, one, mail 2 self addressed, self stamped disks
to:

	Daniel Lawrence
	617 New York St
	Lafayette, IN 47906

(Yes, I have been letting these pile up until this release is
ready, if you haven't got your back yet, it will be coming now!)

	or

Call "The Programmer's Room" BBS at (317) 742-5533 and look in
file area 1 (UTIL) and the three archive files will be there. First time
users are allowed to download. (How about uploading something back in
exchange?)
