Has anyone ported GNUemacs to a Sun 2/120 running BSD4.2? I've got a copy of the source but it won't compile. If someone has GNUemacs running successfully on a Sun 2 I'd like to hear what fixes they did to the code to get it to compile or, better yet, they could send me a copy of the source. Gord Kurtenbach.

I am also interested in GNUmacs for the SUN/2. I'd appreciate hearing from someone who has successfully ported it. Mark Klein mklein@uiucdcsb.UIUC

gnuemacs 16.60.X runs without modifications on a Sun 2 runnning 2.0. Note however, that although it compiles alright, it dies when users with yp entries (i.e. +user: ) try to use it. The problem is due to an obscure bug in the sun library code; some sort of dynamic memory overrun. Compiling gnuemacs with range checking turned on (-Drcheck) is a succesful workaround. @alex

We had a problem with the version we had - it was 15 something - it would compile on our VAX, but not on the SUN. We are running 16.56 on our SUNs now, though. I have compiled GNU Emacs 17.63 on a Sun 2 under Version 3.0 of Sun's OS and am having trouble getting it to run. It worked fine on version 2.1 and also works fine if I load lisp modules into the "temacs" binary produced by the makefile, so I suspect that there is a bug in my version of unexec.c. If someone has a version of unexec.c for Sun 2's that works on version 3.0 of the OS, could he please mail me it or diffs to me.
