[net.emacs] New lines in VMS gnu

I wasn't following too closely back a while when the discussion was
going on about the extra newlines in gnuemacs-VMS-n. Woe is me.
I now discover that I'm having the same problem. Two questions:

1) Is there an archive of net.emacs (or the vms-gnu mailing list)?
2) What was the fix if any?

Please reply to me, I'll post if the need arises. (doubtful)
