I am trying to bring up GNU v18 on an IBM-RT running 4.2 bsd. I have come across some compile bugs, as mentioned before on the net, and also a core dump bug caused by a munged crt0. I fixed both, and I got past the "temacs -l inc-vers", but I cant seem to get the "loadup" working. Does anybody out there know if there is a quick fix to this? (I get a segmentation violation anywhere from deep in the read-interpret stuff to somewhere in comand completion to anywhere else). temacs will boot, and I will get the "impure lisp code etcetcetc" line in the minibuf, and the first time I try to do anything fancy with M-x, it dumps core. (anything fancy is defined as executing a command, like "load", or just doing command-completion). In addition, in the loadup sequence, emacs bombs in the middle of loading subr.el. Failing anybody knowing what to do to fix this, does anybody have a version of GNU (any version) for the RT running, on a place where we (at Cornell) can get it via FTP? --chet-- In Real Life: Chet Murthy ARPA: murthy@svax.cs.cornell.edu SnailMail: Chet Murthy Gaslight Village Apts 21-B Uptown Road Ithaca, NY 14850 MaBellNet: (607)-257-5709

We are basically supplying the RT ports here. We have a V17 version; I'd need some time to get it together (or else ftp the 17.64 version from prep, since I believe that it has RT support). Could you mail me the hacks for the compile errors and the crt0? They will save me some time. -- Robert^Z
