[net.decus] cruft-11

aad@ANDREW.CMU.EDU (Anthony Datri) (08/02/86)

I was serious about the TU56's. Really. I'm giggling too, but I'd
hate to see this stuff get thrown away. Soooo, anyone who wants
to pay shipping can get any of the following for FREE:

2 tu56 dual DECtape units, with DEC docs and apparently schematics.
2 tc11 DECtape controllers
1 power supply for the aboves
A bunch of DECtapes
1 PDP-11/15, without the front panel overlay, but *with* 8 or 16k of
core.
2 or 3 BA11-E Unibus expansion boxes, which at the moment
 contain 6 DM11's at 110 baud (3), 300 baud (2), and 1200 baud (1).
1 tm11 tape controller, supposedly 800 bpi
1 or 2 DP11's? (i'm not sure on the name, but what ever it is, it
seems to be a controller for some ancient type of modem)
1 tu45 cabinet

The ba11's each have power supplys. I also have a power supply or
breaker box or something that takes 3-phase power. It's a black
box, has a huge cord with one of those 5 conductor twist plugs
on the end of it, and has a bunch of plugs on it.

Take some of this off of my hands, and I'll throw in a whole bunch of
pdp-8 paper tapes.

I also have a *thing* that consists of 4 peices of rack-mount backplane
(the height of 2 boxes) that is rumored to let an 11 talk to some IBM
heap. The term MPX was thrown at me about it once.

This stuff is in two standard pdp-11 cabinets. I'm told that someone
might actually pay money for the cabinets, so I don't think I'll give
them up for free.

If you think this is silly, you should see the stuff we *aren't*
throwing out.

Anyone want a pdp-8/e, complete with front panel switches and lights? Fully
configured with 32 K (words) of yes, CORE! memory, also RK05j and RK05f disk
drives, a TU10 800 bpi vacuum column tape drive? Available for essentially
free: TU10 is $5. Preference to educational. I'm not kidding! These are
all IN USE NOW and in perfect working order.
