While scanning the "Positions Available" pages in the Canadian Association of University Teachers Bulletin for October, I came across an ad from the Botany department, University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus. Instead of the usual mumbo-jumbo about "In accordance with Canadian immigration regulations...." etc., this ad ended with the following wonderful statement: This position will be offered to the best candidate regardless of citizenship. -- Alberto Mendelzon utcsri!mendel mendel@toronto
