The University of Toronto / Computing Services group proudly announces a major reduction in the rate schedule for the UTCS General Purpose Unix timeshared service. The GP Unix service is offered on a commercially licensed VAX 11/750 running BSD Unix, the current release being 4.2BSD. Access to GP Unix is not limited to U of T internal users, but is open to private and commercial customers as well. Below is the U of T internal rate schedule. Please contact the UTCS accounting office to obtain copies of the UTCS Internal, External and Commercial rate schedules. As of Aug 1, 1986 the new rate schedule for U of T internal users using GP UNIX will be: Item charge per units ----------------------------------------------- cpu $0.70 60 seconds connect $0.80 3600 seconds disk $0.40 1000 block-days (1 block = 1 kbyte) printer $0.10 1 page phototypesetting $0.25 1 inch, minimum of 10 inches charged/job ----- Notes: 1. There is a 33% reduction in cpu and connect charges during non-prime hours (see rate schedule for details). 2. Users are encouraged to print lineprinter oriented output on the Xerox 8700 laser printer at $0.023 per page (default forms only).
