N e t N o r t h C o n f e r e n c e 8 8
June 1-2, 1988 at the University of New Brunswick
The aim of this conference is to bring together people providing
computer network services to the Canadian university community via
NetNorth and other networks. The conference will focus on technical,
operational and management aspects of networks as well as planning for
internetwork co-operation and future network facilities and services.
The conference will consist of a general program of submitted and
invited presentations , open forum discussions, the annual general
meeting of the directors of NetNorth sites, the NetNorth executive
meeting and a social program encouraging extensive discussion.
Papers and/or presentations are solicited for the general
program. Some suggested topics are:
Network funding, Network management, Network standards,
Canadian University network co-operation, Coping with the
Internet, the move to Domains, Transport topology, Mailer issues
Campus user services for the network, The NAC a year later,
X-400 progress, the evolution of BITNET and EARN, The impact of
the NSFnet, TCP/IP, IBM future directions, CSnet-BITNET merger
As well short presentations are solicited for a session on
innovative network applications.
Potential presentors are invited to submit a 250 word abstract of
their proposed presentation via E-mail or post ( E-mail contributions
are encouraged! ) to the conference chairman, D. G. Macneil at the
address below. Papers selected for presentation by the Program Committee
will be published in the conference proceedings.
