A while ago I proposed a Canadian telecommunications newsgroup or mailing list. While the feedback I recieved was all positive it was by no means overwhelming in numbers. At david@geac's suggestion I will run this as a mailing list for a period and if sufficient membership or volume develops it will be converted into a newsgroup. I will not be automatically adding those who responded to my original message to the mailing list unless they explicitly requested it. In any case EVERYONE who is interested should go to the trouble of sending a message now to make sure they get on the list. To join send a message to info-can-tele-request@ontenv.uucp listing your E-mail address (with a bang path from utzoo, alberta, or watmath if your site is not in the maps), organization, profession and any specific areas of Telecommunications interest (mostly for my curiosity). I will wait a couple days for this message to propogate and responses to come back then send a "welcome" message to the list to get the ball rolling, please do not make any submissions until you have recieved this message.
